Your agency gave you my name because I have a specialty in helping potential egg donors weigh the benefits and risks of being an egg donor. It is also my job to make sure that safety and ethical guidelines from American Society of Reproductive Medicine are followed to protect you, the intended parents, and the future child that may come from your donation. We will meet for 1.5 to 2 hours either in person or virtually via a secure connection. If virtual, you will need to have a private, quiet place with a computer with a strong internet connection, as we will be discussing topics that are personal related to your reproductive health history and how being a donor may affect your future. We discuss the possibility of donor offspring finding you one day, how open you would like your identity to be with intended parents and future offspring, and other implications that can impact your life as a donor in the future. Additionally, there is a general assessment at the end that should take 30 minutes to an hour to complete, and it will ask you several mental health questions about your general mental health. Additionally, we discuss the medical procedures you will undergo as a donor as part of informed consent. Once your screening is completed, I will reach out to you to discuss the results with you in a one-time visit.
